Regular readers of this blog will be aware of the race to get driverless cars on UK roads, but what if roads were not required at all? Enter the flying car.
Pictures have just been released of a flying car that goes by the name of Pop.Up, which can drive on the roads but then take to the air when the traffic gets a bit too much. At the end of the day, who wants to sit in a traffic jam when you could simply take to the air? No more long commutes.
Taking Off and Landing
So what do we know about Pop.Up the flying car right at this moment? Early reports suggest it is an electric vehicle that is capable of taking off and landing vertically.
It doesn’t surprise me one bit that a flying car is going to be electric, but I do think that many people in the UK still need convincing about electric cars and their benefits.
However, owning an electric car does seem to bring out the best in people according to research, although there is still a lack of charging points around the country, something that needs to change if we are ever going to see an electric flying car.
I reckon the government have been anticipating the introduction of flying cars, because as recently reported, they have just updated the Vehicle Technology and Aviation Bill. In that story I laughed at the notion of flying cars anytime soon. Let’s wait to see what happens.
In my opinion, I think we are probably quite a long way from witnessing cars flying above, but it’s good to see they are working on the technology for a time when it might just be possible.
Flying Car Insurance
One thing that has just occurred to me about flying cars is whether or not car insurance will become cheaper or more expensive? If you ask me…more expensive, at first anyway, as people get used to flying around on their way to work.
Thankfully, you are in the right place for comparing flying car insurance when the time comes, so you can get a cheap deal for your vehicle.
Right now though, it really is all about self driving cars and the race to get them on UK roads. We now have many different companies all working around the clock to become first to market, with Google, Tesla, Apple, and Ford all leading the way.
3 Minutes Is All It Takes
In the meantime you still have to drive manually, and the best place to compare car insurance is right here. All you need is less than 3 minutes to fill in a simple form, and then you start getting quotes right away from many different companies.
