Getting cheap car insurance quotes is what everybody wants these days, but with the average policy being at £767 it isn’t getting any easier.
It’s actually just come to my attention that 10 years ago in 2007 the average car insurance quote was only around £375 a year. I bet most people would like to pay that right now…if only you had a time machine.
You know, I’ve been saying for a while now that a lot of these car insurance companies are getting a bit too big for their britches. It just seems like they think charging the average man and woman in the UK super expensive prices is fine and we will keep on paying them no matter what they charge.
Car Insurance: Nearly £1,000 Per Year
Some experts are even predicting that car insurance quotes will be, on average, £858 by the end of the year. Not exactly cheap is it.
You don’t have to just take it though, and you don’t have to get that time machine either. The easiest way to find cheap car insurance quotes is with a straight forward and no-nonsense comparison website.
Simply enter your details once and then get loads of different quotes from literally hundreds of insurance companies. This turns the tables and makes them compete for your business, kind of like how it was back in 2007 maybe. It’s like travelling back in time.
As you will no doubt be aware, the cost of insuring your car depends on a lot of different factors, such as your age, amount of driving experience, location, and how many miles you are going to be driving each year.
For example, if you are a 21 year old who has just learned to drive and lives in London, then expect your quote to be a lot more expensive than the current average of £767.
However, if you are a 62 year old with a clean driving record and you live in the countryside somewhere, expect to be paying nowhere near £767. In fact, if you compare car insurance companies right now some of the cheapest quotes will make you think you’re back in 2007.
Scotland and Cheap Car Insurance
The same can be said if you are living in Scotland, because if you read this blog on a regular basis then you will be aware how I wrote about the fact that the cheapest car insurance in the UK is to be found in Scotland, with the average quote to be around £531. I wonder how much they were paying in 2007? Probably around £200.
Like I have said many times, the only way to get cheap car insurance quotes is to use a comparison website, so no matter if you are looking to renew, switch companies, or simply get a new quote, it really is the best way forward…or the best way back, to 2007 prices that is.
