One direct car insurance provider has recently offered a two month discount to customers who get a quote from the company prior to 31 May of this year, according to industry experts.
Provider of discount car insurance quotes Direct Line has offered customers a full 12 months of car cover for the price of ten, provided you get a quote from the company before the deadline. The insurer says that the quote will remain valid for a period of 90 days from when you request it, which leaves room for customers whose insurance is not yet up for renewal.
Car insurance rates in the UK have been on what seems to be a constant upward spiral over the past 12 months or so, with motoring organisations such as the AA reporting that the average price of insurance cover increased by 40 per cent in the last year alone. This makes any special offers that could reduce the cost of cover welcomed by weary drivers looking for the best way to control their costs, experts say.
Younger motorists have fared even worse in the last year, the AA found. Young males under 21 years of age saw their already highly expensive insurance prices rise by more than 46 per cent over the same period of time, resulting in an average quote well over £2,000.
Many motorists have turned to car insurance comparison sites in order to find the best deals and to stretch their cash that much further in the current economic climate. Unfortunately, Direct Line does not partner with any of these sites, which means that the only way to gain access to the deal is through a direct contact with the insurance provider.
