Volvo recently won a brace of awards at the 2011 UK motor car insurance Vehicle Security Awards, one of which named the Volvo C30 as the best Small Family Car available for purchase in the UK.
The Thatcham discount car insurance repair centre also recently announced that Volvo UK has been awarded its 2011 International Vehicle Security Award for being one of the cars least likely to be stolen in the UK. Volvo Car UK Media Relations Manager, Martin Bayntun, accepted the award for Best Small Family Car, stating that he had great pleasure to be able to do so.
Mr Baynton was quick to say that Volvo has persisted in its commitment to make sure that its customers are kept safe whenever they are inside on of the car manufacturer’s vehicles. The media relations manager also pointed out that not only does Volvo make safe cars, they also manufacture their vehicles in such a way that will keep it from getting stolen easily – something that could be reflected in reduced car insurance rates for Volvo owners.
Featuring several standard security features, the Volvo C30 includes a level senor, an anti-theft alarm and immobiliser, remote central locking with deadlocks, and an option for laminated side windows in order to increase security.
In related news, the car manufacturer has released the details of its newly revamped mobile application Volvo On Call, available on Android and iPhone mobile phones. If the car’s alarm is triggered, the system will send an alert to the owner’s mobile phone automatically as well.
Begun in 2004 to recognise car manufacturers who make an effort to produce the most secure motor vehicles, the primary goal of the British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards is to raise consumer awareness regarding the latest and most innovative security developments.
