Price comparison site Confused.com has recently announced it plans to add five new brands to its list of car insurance companies.
Motor car insurance providers specific to certain makes of cars will now be featured on the popular site for such brands as Renault, Honda, and Nissan, in addition to both Spain-based Santander and Magic Quote, a brand managed by insurer Adrian Flux.
Magic Quote has gained a reputation for specialising in unique customer needs, such as high performance car owners, those with claims histories that may be less than perfect, in addition to providing discount car insurance for young drivers.
John Cooper, commercial manager for the price comparison website, states that the newly added companies have strenghtened Confused.com’s position as a respected source, which will lead customers to feel safe in the knowledge that they are finding both a quote that fits their needs in addition to a competitive quote. The website now compares prices and policies for 90 different insurance companies.
IN related news, the firm released research results that delineated how parents are being subject to high prices as a result of adding any learner-driver children to their existing policies.
The firm found that, according to their research, the addition of a 19-year old new driver to an existing policy can raise premiums by a factor of nine.
The company made the suggestion that while it may seem relatively cheaper in comparison for the cost incurred b taking out a separate premium for a learning driver in a separate car, by not allowing a learner driver to accumulate a clean driving record with no claims will result in exorbitantly high rates, as they will not be eligible for a no claims bonus, thus making separate cover for new drivers a more financially sound decision in the long run.
